It was slow for me using Chrome. turnermm, did you click through to the wiki?

Prediker, the first thing I'd do is check the server error logs.

Yes, I did. For instance, I got to various actors--Pacino, Alan Rickman, as well as some of their movies, like Rickman in Harry Potter.  However -- I could not get the Index to load.  If it weren't for that, I'd say there is a network problem.

Well - I finally did get an Index and the reason that it is so slow is that there are hundreds of items in the root directory.  So I'd say that it is a network problem.  That is, here in North america the site comes up in a timely fashion, but not in Europe (or in certain parts of Europe).  So, one thing I'd do is check with my ISP.

Hmm, that's odd. Can the difference be really that bad? For me, the site was so slow, that the start page didn't load at all and I gave up after more than 5 minutes... (I'm in London, so that fits into your theory.)

Hmm, this morning I accessed the site from home and it was mega slow. Now I tried from work and it loads fine... Maybe it's a time-related issue? I.e. the server might have problems from time to time but might be fine at other times?

I've seen these kinds of network problems before.  It depends on the route that the connection uses to get from point A to point B.  If there's one hold-up along the route then the time is affected.

Thanks Guys,

the time issue is perhaps the problem, in the meantime my site is working reasonability well (Hurray!), not very fast but fast enough. I didn't wy its working now. I complaint a lot by the provider, perhaps that has helped!

Again thanks for your support,
Regards Reg
