Subject: Plain Text search & replace
Hai,

I looked now for 2 years for a plain text and replace plugin, why is it so hard to programm such a plugin?
Please can anyone help me (and perhaps many others)?
I can not programm myself, so.. wenn anyone can do I would be very happy.

A Dokuwiki lover ;D

Not sure what you mean by that and how it would be used.   There is the textinsert plugin: https://www.dokuwiki.org/plugin:textinsert

Thanks for your effort.
Pitty your suggestion works with macros.
What i'm looking for is for example: I have a list with names: example:

names 1
names 2
names 3
names 4
names 5
names 6
names 7 and so on, e.s.o.

I just want rename all de names into name, thats all! So simple!

Again thanks for your reply,
Regards Reg

Copy the content of a page to an editor, replace what ever you want and copy it back to the wiki editor?

Or do you need to replace your strings in all pages with a single action?

Thanks Lupo49 for your answer.

I've  already tried your suggestion, but its so devious this way. But that's wat I mean!
I'd hoped someone knows such little helpfull plugin within Dokuwiki would exist.

Ok thanks again,
Reg

So you need something like an extension of the toolbar where you can enter the search and replace words and an action button, which performs the replace procedure inside the wiki editor?

I know this is a very old topic, but I had the exact same issue and found that none of the text replacement plugins worked for me.  I don't want to have to go into configuration and tweak settings every time I need to do a search/replace.

I ended up thinking outside the dokuwiki box.  I found a chrome extension that does search/replace on text boxes on web pages.  it is very fast and easy to use.

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/search…?hl=en-…

The only thing that would make it better is if it gave some sort of verification of how many instances of the search string were found/replaced.

hope this helps someone else too :)

The toolbox plugin now has a search and replace dialog: https://www.dokuwiki.org/plugin:toolbox
