It might be that your browser window was not big enough. The new default template unfortunately goes into "tablet mode" way too early and collapses the sidebar when the browser width is less than 980px.
I think that's it. I just tried to reproduce it and just above the "Dokuwiki" main header is a small collapsed "Sidebar" section, which I must have overlooked before.
I hesitate to make suggestions as a complete noob to this site, but I hope the perspective of someone with fresh eyes is helpful: The page has many sections (there are ~25 other words and 16 links in 6 other sections just above the main header, depending on how you count) and the collapsed sidebar isn't emphasized; unless I was committed to reading every word on the page, I could easily overlook it. OK, one suggestion: Because it contains some crucial info for people unaccustomed to navigating the site, prevent it from collapsing.
No complaints though; the site and community have been very helpful. It's a good selling point for the application. Thank you!
