I installed DokuWiki in a testbed with an existing PunBB installation. The installations are in /var/www/testbed/punbb and /var/www/testbed/dokuwiki
1. Problem:
I set a system admin in the configuration of DokuWiki but after logging in I don't have a button to edit or create a page nor a button for Admin. I am logged in ok because I see a button to change my profile and to log out.
2. Problem
I changed the ACL type to take the ACL from the existing PunBB in the same testbed but none of the users there can login.
Remark: I used the latest stable version of DokuWiki because the RC2 of the new version would not work at all (does not show any template nor would it let me login as admin).

All the fine people who could have replied to these 2 questions seem to be on vacation? Maybe some of them returned meanwhile, so I push this thread up the list.
It's obvious that without a solution to these questions DokuWiki is useless, so pls try to help me.

Well I guess problem 1 and 2 are somewhat related. The installer sets group admin to be the super user and add your initial user to that group. When you switch to PunBB's auth, you probably are in a different group (I thinks it's called Administrators), so you are no longer an admin and won't see any admin buttons. Change the superuser option in your config file manually to the correct group or your username.

Thx for replying.
I know about the different naming of the group and changed it accordingly. In situation 1 my config file shows the authtype as 'plain' and superuser as @admin - in situation 2 I changed authtype to 'punbb' and superuser to @administrators. Neither does work as expected.
