mr-johnson Hi all! I have set up a closed "adora bell" wiki (and disabled auto registration), therefore username & password is required for anyone who wants to see / edit content. And now I want to make sure that the passwords set by users later meat some minimum requirements (the usual like minimum length of 8 chars and has to include 3 out of the following 4 criterias: upper case letter, lower case letter, digit, special char). Well, I was kinda surprised that this functionality is not available in Doku Wiki's base functionality or as a plugin. Or at least I did not manage to find it. Also it did not show up on my search results in this forum. So - anyone having anything to say about it? Many thanks!
ach Andreas Gohr has worked on that just a while ago. See https://github.com/splitbrain/dokuwiki/pull/166. Those changes are for the core system, but we decided that it should rather be implemented as a plugin. That plugin is not available yet, and I don't know when it will be, sorry.
mr-johnson Thanks Ach, not what I hoped for but at least I know that I can stop searching for now. Is there a chance, that this topic will get a due date some time or is it dropped and forgotten?
ach Mr. Johnson wrote Is there a chance, that this topic will get a due date some time or is it dropped and forgotten? Things are usually "ready when they're ready" in Open Source. ;-) Unless you decide to pay someone to do it...
wolf12 Again, thanks to Andi. I did not think of searching "policy", just password... I got to improve my skills in searching ;)
wolf12 This might be the wrong threat, but can the login attempts be limited? To lock the account after 10 failed attempts for a period of time. https://www.dokuwiki.org/plugin:ipban could be useful if the attacker is detected.
