Hello all,
Quick summary:
we will be pleased to get returns from people who tried to migrate mediawiki contents into a dokuwiki, trying to detect some smart learnings before starting the switching of our mediawiki content into a brand new empty dokuwiki.
Context:
In an association I'm one of the members, we are about to switch from mediawiki to dokuwiki.
We may have between a selection of 100 to 200 pages over more than 1000 pages, to "move" from mediawiki to dokuwiki. Those selection of pages on our current mediawiki, have many kind of types of content: images; code; internal links; external links; etc ...
Dokuwiki's wiki
mediawiki_to_dokuwiki_converter tip, gives some automatic solutions to convert content and pages from a mediawiki site to a dokuwiki site.
We've identified the namepace structure of our future dokuwiki, and in ideal migration, we would be really pleased to indicate across an existing script, for each mediawiki page, its dokuwiki namespace destination.
However, before choosing a solution, we wander what would be best practices, regarding your learnings, your experiences.
What would you say?
* is the migration from mediawiki to dokuwiki really possible, or is it a view of mind ?
* what would you do for such number of content pages to convert (migrate)?
Thanks a lot for your kind returns ...
