Just to point that out once more: just because something works on your machine, it does not follow that it works on all other machines. Some people use Macs and iPhones, others use WIndows, some use Linux, Android, etc.
With .mov files, you limit your users to those which have an Apple machine, or have QuickTime for Windows installed (not many). For others, there is just an error message (or ideally, the browser will download the file - but then the user has a file in the download folder that they can't open).
It would definitely be a better idea to use a more widely supported file format - or at least provide multiple formats for the user to chose.
