Hi All, I recently upgraded my DokuWiki to Igor. I use this in a high school education context. I did most of the upgrades over the Christmas school vacation when usage of my Wiki drops to almost zero. Now that we are back in the classroom after holidays the upgraded Wiki is getting a proper workout. I now have a wide range of students on different device types (iPads, MacBooks and PCs), operating systems and browsers.
Today I have found an issue that only seems to occur for students using Safari on MacOS. PDF documents that are linked on the DokuWiki do not load up for students. No error is logged in the Apache or Dokuwiki logs.
To test this, I've just installed a fresh Dokuwiki (Release 2022-07-31a "Igor") to see if there is an issue with any of my plugins or other configurations.
The only thing I have done with this Wiki is untar it, set the minimum directory restrictions and run the installer.
You can see a sample page here: https://benoit.mrhelbig.com/doku/doku.php?id=wiki:welcome that provides three sample files for download (Word, Excel and PDF).
Using Safari (MacOS) the Word and Excel files download fine to the browser where the end user is prompted to open or save the file. The PDF though is delivered directly into the browser by default, but renders as a blank (black) document. If you rightclick on the link on the Wiki to the PDF and choose to "Download linked file..." then the document that you receive is the correct document and opens properly in Preview, Acrobat, etc.
The issue is how the file is delivered through Dokuwiki, as if you access the same file directly using a deep link (I left the data directory permissions open so I could test this), then the file loads and renders properly in Safari. The direct link is: https://benoit.mrhelbig.com/doku/data/media/wiki/sample_pdf.pdf
Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards
Alex
