Subject: [translation p.] ns-use: jump sometimes to root directory & namespace-template issues.
Valued Dokuwiki-Team, Plugin giver and user,

while using (hopefully right set in it's whole) the following issues came up.

1. When selecting another language it happens that it would address a (non existing) file in the root directory and not under this language namespace. Mostly not. No reason or plattern, aside of possible just in cases where a selected page in another namespace is subject, can be traced by my person.

(actually --> double lang in menu in a German-topic)

2. Is there a possibility to partly (in specific namespaces) make use of the tool which put in the text of existing translations, when a page is newly created? Since it would hinder the fetch of the _template, it has been deactivated. Or is there a possibility to display something like "note: there are existing translations of this pagename in this and that lang-namespace" so that one could consider to make use of it while starting with the namespace templates given enviroment?

Because it just came up:

What if there is a possibility to select the source for creating a page on the "this page does not exist"-page, having "a list" of oppinions (possible to set by the admin), like:

  • A create page from existing other lang-namesspaces: en, fr,...
  • B use existing namespace template only
  • C use existing translation and template (special case...)
  • D blank page

Not sure, maybe such could the "programmed" in the user txt of this page individual.

Mostly it works fine. Just had this again, wishing to switch from German to English on this page using the lang menu (http://accesstoinsight.eu/de/dictionary/akkharakrama). It seeked for http://accesstoinsight.eu/dictionary/akkharakrama , which does not exist. After "manual" for and back, it works perfect, not possible to repeat. No special reason seen from outward.
Just noted to possible be of use to find something one would like to improve.

Addition: again. Just noted that the translation link would not use the "pretty url" in it's whole but uses index?=id in between, if such info is of help.

Just got aware that there are two "en" links produced in the dropdown menu, and one time clicking this another that, caused the above mentioned appearing.

Could the link to the root be caused because there are still 2 pages in the root-directory, making the plugin believe to add the root as additional lang?

Can it be solved by settings or by simlpy removing all from the root?

Solution for the double lang display and directing to root:

providby/forwarded by Mr. Michael and Mr. Frank

It's enough (to replace/remove) in "lib/plugins/translation/helper.php":

// get default translation
        if(!empty($conf['lang_before_translation'])) {

the "!".
It works and I could not find any (other) side-effects.
